I am a low-dimensional topologist working on problems lying at the interface between Teichmüler theory, complex algebraic geometry and symplectic topology. Recently, I've been thinking about holomorphic maps between moduli spaces, totally geodesic subvarieties of moduli space and Lefschetz fibrations in 4-manifolds.
Previously, I did research in Theoretical ecology mostly interested in understanding how nature assembles the large levels of biological diversity we observe in ecosystems.
