Funding

The Midwest Topology Seminar is supported by the National Science Foundation and the University of Chicago. We have very limited funding available from the NSF for graduate students and postdocs from US institutions; if you are requesting funding, you should indicate this when you register. As a rough rule of thumb, funding will have to be limited to no more than $500 per person (and this should not be interpreted as an amount that should be expected, either).

Accommodation

Hotels

For hotels, we have two options now - the Hyatt and the Laquinta. They are in 20 and 30 minutes walking distance from campus. There are many restaurants near the Hyatt. The Laquinta has its own restaurant, which Peter May likes. Public transportation (the 171 and 172 CTA buses, $2.25 per person) is available from the hotels in the day. University free shuttles (the ones marked as East) to the hotels are available during the night.

We have reserved a block of rooms in the Hyatt in Hyde Park (5225 S Harper Ave, Chicago, IL 60615). You can book online, or call Hyatt's reservation phone number (888) 591-1234. Be sure to use our group rate code G-MTS1, or mention the Midwest Topology Seminar. The group rate is $215 per night, and valet parking is available for $37 per night. Rooms at the Hyatt will be offered at the group rate until April 14.

We have reserved another block of rooms in the Laquinta in Hyde Park (4900 S Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL, 60615). To apply the group rate, you need to call the Laquinta's reservation phone number (773) 324-3000, and mention "MW topology" to be identified. The price is $169 + tax, and the parking is free.

At either hotel, we encourage people to pair up, and we will help find roommates on request (indicate you would like help finding a roommate when you register).

AirBnB

Another option besides hotels is to use the AirBnB service (or any equivalent) to get local accommodation.

Registration

Please register here by April 24 if you are planning to attend. Although registration is not required, it will greatly aid us in planning to have accurate attendance numbers, so please register even if you are not requesting funding.
