Please Note: The church is not air conditioned. We will employ a lot of fans, but temperatures inside the church can be 10 degrees higher than outside. Please dress accordingly. We will supply cold bottles of water.
How to get there:
We have arranged for limited parking at the Pritzker School parking lot near the corner of Evergreen and Damen:
Please note: There will be a neighborhood event on the 23rd which will involve street closures (in particular, Damen will be closed between North and Schiller). You are encouraged to take a taxi or public transportation to avoid traffic and parking issues. The church is 2 blocks from the Damen stop of the CTA blue line, which stops both downtown and at O'Hare.
Driving directions from the North: (Including O'Hare Airport) Take the Kennedy Expressway (I-94 E), exit 49A Division (take a right on Division at exit). After crossing Damen, take a right at Hoyne St. In about 4 blocks, take a right on Evergreen. The Pritzker parking lot is halfway to the end of the block, on your left.
Directions from the South: Take the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/I-94 W), exit 49B Augusta Blvd/Milwaukee Blvd. (take a right onto Milwaukee at the exit). In a few blocks, take a diagonal left onto Division. After crossing Damen, take a right at Hoyne St. In about 4 blocks, take a right on Evergreen. The Pritzker parking lot is halfway to the end of the block, on your left.
Directions from the East: Head West on Division. After crossing Damen, take a right at Hoyne St. In about 4 blocks, take a right on Evergreen. The Pritzker parking lot is halfway to the end of the block, on your left.
Directions from the West: Head East on Division. (If you are coming from I-290 E, exit at 27C and take a left onto Western. In about 2 miles, take a right on Division.) Take a left onto Hoyne St. (which is .4 mile East of Western). In about 4 blocks, take a right on Evergreen. The Pritzker parking lot is halfway to the end of the block, on your left.
Memorial Donations
Some have asked where they can contribute in Ruth's name. Ruth was active in many charities. Two that were especially close to her heart (and neighborhood) are Wicker Park Lutheran Church and the North Avenue Day Nursery.
