Concentration month on nonlinear elliptic PDEs.

Organized by Henri Berestycki and Luis Silvestre at the University of Chicago. These activities are financed by NSF grant DMS-1065979 FRG: Collaborative Research : Emerging Issues in the Sciences Involving Non-Standard Diffusion. The participants of this grant are Henri Berestycki, Luis Caffarelli, Yanyan Li, Fanghua Lin and Luis Silvestre.

During the month of May 2012, we will have a concentration period involving issues on nonlinear elliptic and parabolic equations with non-standard diffusion and applications.

Lodging information:

We have negotiated the special rate of $149+tax for double rooms at the Congress hotel, in the South loop. You can make your reservation on this page. If you prefer to call, you have to mention the group: nonlinear PDE.

The hotel is one block away from the Van Buren Metra station, which is a convenient way to come to the University of Chicago campus.

Check the transportation restrictions due to the NATO meeting in Chicago.

The activities will be organized around some minicourses, with daily seminar lectures. The schedule of the minicourses is detailed below.

Schedule of talks.

May 7th to May 11th

Minicourse by Henri Berestycki and Jean Michel Roquejoffre.
Nonlinear reaction-diffusion equations from ecological modeling.

Minicourse by Luis Silvestre.
An introduction to integro-differential equations and regularity.

This course will serve as a preparation for the joint minicouse by Luis Caffarelli and Luis Silvestre the following week.

Some of the lecture notes are available. Some help writing these would be much appreciated.

Other confirmed speakers: Alexander Kiselev and Robert McCann.

May 14th to May 18th

Minicourse by Henri Berestycki and Jean Michel Roquejoffre.
Nonlinear reaction-diffusion equations from ecological modeling.

Minicourse by Luis Caffarelli and Luis Silvestre.
Regularity theory for non-linear problems involving non-local diffusions.

Minicourse by Yanyan Li .
On some conformally invariant fully nonlinear equations.

Other confirmed speakers: Alessio Figalli, Cyril Imbert, Fanghua Lin , Adam Oberman , Xavier Cabre , Changyou Wang, Hongjie Dong.

May 20th to May 23rd

This week we will join The 5th Symposium on Analysis and PDEs at Purdue University from May 20th to May 23rd. There will be no special activities hosted in Chicago during those days.

Minicourse by Luis Caffarelli.
Regularity theory for non-linear problems involving non-local diffusions.

Minicourse by Alice Chang.
Non-linear PDEs in the study of conformal invariants.

These activities are financed by NSF grant FRG DMS-1065979.
