Teaching
In fall 2008, I will be teaching Math 152. The course page can be found on Chalk.
I have previously taught the 150's and 190's sequences, which cover first year calculus and multivariable calculus/linear algebra respectively. While these courses emphasize computational skills, proofs are assigned weekly and problem solving skills are honed over the course.
I also have mentored several students through our Directed Reading Program. I highly recommend this program to any math undergraduate looking to study a particular topic that falls outside of the regular curriculum.
I have overseen other mentors and mentored many students through the VIGRE Summer Program. This is a great program for a University of Chicago math undergraduate who would like to learn some more math (including some fun topics) over the summer.
I also do some volunteer tutoring with the Woodlawn afterschool program (WASKP). While I would love to say this is a selfless endeavor to help the kids in the rough neighborhood just south of the university, mostly it's that I love working with children. If you are interested in volunteering please send me an email.
