I am a fifth year graduate student in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Chicago. My advisor is Professor Victor Ginzburg. I am interested in geometric representation theory and related questions in algebra, geometry and combinatorics.

In 2014-2018 I will be an NSF postdoc/Ritt Assistant Professor at Columbia University, where my NSF sponsoring scientist will be Professor Andrei Okounkov. In 2015-2016 I will be on leave from the NSF postdoc and will be doing a one-year postdoc in Bonn, Germany, working as a part the research group of Professor Catharina Stroppel.

I did my undergraduate studies in mathematics at MIT.

When I was in high school, I participated in the IMO '03 (in Japan) and '04 (in Greece).

I am married to Ilya Gekhtman.

In my free time, I enjoy reading. Some of my favorite books are the Moomin books by Tove Jansson, the science fiction novel Monday Starts on Saturday by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, and the Corfu trilogy by Gerald Durrell.
