Description of course:

This course will be an introduction to Algebraic Geometry, focussing on the geometry of curves.

Topics to be covered (if time allows):

• Affine and Projective plane curves
• Bezout's theorem
• Points of inflection
• Multiplication law on an elliptic curve
• Riemann-Hurwitz formula
• Riemann-Roch
